There are many exciting fights on the docket this weekend, among them Lamont Peterson of Memphis, Tenn. vs Danny Garcia of Philadelphia, Penna.

You receive the following text message from your travel agent. It’s marked “URGENT”: “Let me know if you still want me to book your travel arrangements to Brooklyn  – round trip from San Diego, hotel room, food, rental car, and the two ringside seats,

one for the show on Friday night (April 10, 2015) at the Aviator Sports & Recreation Complex which features 10 bouts. Incidentally, did you know all 20 boxers have a winning record? It should be a great show. The other ticket is for Saturday’s contest (April 11, 2015) between Garcia and Peterson at the Barclays Center.

“With both shows in Brooklyn, you’re only going to be a stone’s throw from each. With everything, I should still be able to keep your out of pocket expenses under $3,200. Time’s a wasting, let me know what you think. Tomorrow, we’ll have less than 48 hours till that Friday, April 10th show with it’s exceptional fight card. The Aviator Sports & Recreation Complex is at 3159 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn and believe it or not, that Frank Galarza versus Sheldon Moore match-up that you wanted to see. I don’t think it’s the Main Event. They have another tough match on the card. It’s between the Russian, Sergiy Derevyanchenko and a fellow by the name of Alan “Amenaza” Campa from Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.

And who’s Frank Galarza? Take a gander at this video from his last fight

“The following night, I can have you sitting ringside for the Danny Garcia bout versus Lamont Peterson at the Barclays Center on Atlantic Avenue which is just 8.5 miles away from the Aviator Sports & Recreation Complex, both in Brooklyn.

“On that undercard you have a “who’s who” of boxing: Andy Lee (34-2, 24 KOs) taking on Peter Quillen (31-0, 22 KOs); Viktor Postol (26-0) versus Jake Giuriceo (17-2-1); Felix Diaz (16-0) vs. Gabiel Bracero (23-1); Errol Spence Jr. (15-0, 12 KOs) vs Samuel Vargas (20-1-1, 10 KOs); plus Heather Hardy is battling Renata Domsodi for the WBC female super bantamweight title. Because of the late hour, ringside seats are now going for $700.

“As an alternative, you could be a cheapskate and call your cable TV provider, order Showtime for Friday’s show. Then, on Saturday you can watch the Garcia vs. Peterson matchup for free. It’s on NBC.”

The above, hypothetical conversation, was meant to draw your attention to the amazing value being offered to all boxing fans this weekend.

Since its inception in July 2001, the critically acclaimed Showtime boxing series, ShoBox: The New Generation has featured young talent matched tough. Their philosophy is to televise exciting, crowd-pleasing and competitive matches while providing a proving ground for willing prospects who are determined to fight for a world title.

Their list of combatants who would certainly fall under this category includes: Andre Ward, Deontay Wilder, Erislandy Lara, Shawn Porter, Gary Russell Jr., Lamont Peterson, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Omar Figueroa, Nonito Donaire, Devon Alexander, Carl Froch, Robert Guerrero, Timothy Bradley, Jessie Vargas, Juan Manuel Lopez, Chad Dawson, Paulie Malignaggi, Ricky Hatton, Kelly Pavlik, Paul Williams.

But don’t let me turn you into a hermit – those tickets for the DiBella Entertainment show on Friday are still on sale for $100, $70 and even $35 which can be purchased by calling DiBella Entertainment at (212) 947-2577. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. ET, with the first bout scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET.

Or, as mentioned, you could just turn on your TV.
