Without further ado, here are the fighters competing on the June 7, 2014, WCK Full Rules Muay Thai Show, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA.
In Bout #1, they have a three round IAMTF Light Heavyweight ranking bout between the 28 year-old, former hockey center, Jon Stark (3-0, 1 KO) from San Diego’s Art of Eight Training & Fitness Center and 25 year-old Mike Wenger (4-2, 1 KO) of the Bob Chaney Family Martial Arts Center in Murrieta. With Friday being Wenger’s birthday, Stark facetiously said he wanted to give him a present.
In Bout #2, it’s Andrew Gabriel (6-3-1) of Extreme Power, Oceanside, CA going up against 26 year-old Michael Aviles (5-0, 1 KO) of Bryan Dobler’s Double Dose Muay Thai & Fitness Center of Fontana, CA in a four round IAMTF Welterweight California Title match.
In this one, Aviles should have his hands full trying to stem the tide versus the ever pressing Gabriel who has been training longer and harder. Aviles mentioned that he had been training off and on for three years but only recently started getting serious – super serious over the last eight months.
Bout #3 and Bout #4, both three rounders in the WLF 4 Super Bantamweight Tournament, feature 23 year-old Wang Chaoqi (22-1,10 KOs) of Beijing, China taking on the likes of Linda Aguilar of Santa Ana, CA by way of Mexico in her debut, Ciara “The Tigress” Irvine from Oregon (8-4, 2 KOs as an Amateur), she’s also a debutante and finally Lindsay Ball.
Bout #5 is a three round WLF Welterweight match in the Team Competition between Wei Chao Chen (18-7, 6 KOs) of Hai Pei Province, China facing 22 year-old sensation Melsik Baghdasaryan (4-0, 3 KOs) of Glendale, CA by way of Armenia. While Baghdasaryan has gone undefeated, Chen recently lost to the legendary Buakaw Banchamek, the Thai Muay Thai champion, two time World K-1 MAX champion in 2004 and 2006, plus 2010 Shoot Boxing S Club World Champion. Buakaw, who is now 31, knocked Chen out.
Bout #6, a WLF Women’s Extreme Wushu featherweight contest has 26 year-old Xiong Jingnan of Beijing, China facing Lindsey Marino of Austin, Texas.
Jingnan, a former boxer who then flirted with the Mixed Martial Arts, says she’s now very content to just stay in Muay Thai.
Bout #7, a four round WLF Muaythai Lightweight Contest (135 pounds) in the Team Competition has 21 year-old Wei Ninghui (36-13, 11 KOs) of Henan Province, China, facing a local favorite, 25 year-old Marvin Madariaga (2-0, 2 KOs) of San Diego by way of Maui, Hawaii who trains with the Blue Ocean Muay Thai Team and Black House Team Nogueira here in San Diego.
Bout #8 is a three round finals match between the ladies who won their match in Bout #3 and Bout #4, the WLF 4- Women’s Super Bantamweight Tournament featuring Wang Chaoqi, Linda Aguilar, Ciara Irvine and Lindsay Ball.

In Bout #10, a four round WCK Muaythai Super Cruiserweight ranking bout, you’ll get to see 30 year-old Jacob “King Cobra” Poss (3-0, 2 KOs) from Anderson Silva’s Muaythai College in Los Angeles, take on the always tough Sam Alvey of Team Quest, Murrieta, CA. With both men having tremendous punching power, don’t blink.
Look out for Brittany ‘McKey’ Sullivan, better known as the Cycle 11 winner from America’s Next Top Model. It seems she’s always present in Alvey’s corner. She’s also the person who wraps his hands before fights. And finally, she’s also his fiancée. To the fans watching, this couple appears inseparable, joined at the hip.
Bout #11, the Main Event, has the darling of Muay Thai, 23 year-old Jemyma Betrian (40-2-1. 20 KOs) of Los Angeles, CA by way of The Netherlands, the reigning WCK and WBC Women’s Muaythai Bantamweight World Title holder putting her WBC belt on the line against one of the reigning European Champions 21 year-old Christi Brereton of the Chaos Muay Thai Fitness & Competition Training Centre, Okehampton, United Kingdom.
According to Brereton’s coach, Steve Pender, “They’ve worked out a plan to stop her.”
In Brereton’s last match, her toughest to date, she defeated the two-time European Champion and five time World Champion, Alexis Rufus.
