The D Las Vegas and Lion Fight Promotions announced they’ll be hosting a blockbuster women’s Muay Thai match on September 20th, featuring two-time MMA world champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino and multiple standup world champion Martina Jindrova. This full rules Muay Thai event will be aired live, nationally on AXS TV starting at 7:00 p.m. PT from the Fremont Street Experience.

Scott Kent, CEO of Lion Fight Promotions, stated, “As one of the best female fighters in the world, we’re thrilled that Cris Cyborg is going to fight full rules Muay Thai and take on World Champion Martina Jindrova. Both of these fighters are fierce, aggressive strikers who like to end fights early.”

Fighting out of The Arena MMA Gym in Point Loma, Cyborg, who originally hails from Curitiba, Brazil, has been a long time resident of Pacific Beach, San Diego, California. She’s not lost an MMA bout since her pro debut in 2005. Since that time, 10 of her 12 victories have been by knockout or TKO. To illustrate her dominance, Marloes Coenen became the only competitor to take Cyborg past the third round. Also take note, Cyborg, the former Strikeforce Featherweight Champ and now Invicta FC Featherweight Champion, won her lone pro kickboxing match by knockout in 2006.

Kent and Lion Fight matchmaker Christine Toledo worked with former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz, Cyborg’s manager, to secure the fight. “This is a great fight for me,” said Cyborg. “I fought Muay Thai in Brazil and I love competing in this sport. I’m really excited about this fight. I love to fight. I can’t wait to go to Las Vegas and get in that ring on September 20.”

Fighting out of TKBC Prague in Holland, the 22-year old 5’8” Jindrova has a pro Muay Thai record of 17-5 with three knockouts. Originally, from Kaznejov, Plzensky Kraj, Czech Republic, she is a world champion across four standup fighting organizations. She was a two-time boxing champion in her native Czech Republic and went undefeated in standup fighting for four years before moving to Holland to train with what she calls the world’s best coaches and kickboxers.

“I know Cyborg is a huge MMA star and this is a big challenge for me to fight an opponent like her,” said Jindrova. “She’s very strong with hard punches, kicks and knees. But this is not MMA, this is Muay Thai and she will be fighting against me with my rules. I’m very proud to be on this historic Lion Fight 11 card and I’m ready to make a great knockout win for the fans.”

In their main event they have Brazilian superstar Cosmo Alexandre taking on two-time WMC Champion and Rajadamnern Stadium Champion Nampon. In the co-main event, it’s American Muay Thai star Kevin Ross versus former WBC Muay Thai Japan Champion Tetsuya Yamato.

The show will take place at the Third Street Stage at the Fremont Street Experience and doors open at 4:00 p.m.; first bout starts at 5:00 p.m. AXS TV will present Lion Fight 11 live nationally starting at 7:00 p.m. PT. AXS TV along with it’s network partners Mark Cuban, AEG, Ryan Seacrest Media, Creative Artists Agency and CBS will be broadcast the show to over 42 million homes in the U. S.
