Epic Fighting 15 features Salute to our Military

Fourth and B Concert Hall is located at 345 B Street, San Diego, CA, 92101

The next Epic Fighting MMA Show will return to the 4th & B Concert Hall in downtown San Diego, on Saturday, November 10, 2012 with the first fight scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. At the upcoming event, Epic is planning to salute our local Military in a big way.

Former Marine Captain Carlos Kremer: As they say, once a Marine, always a Marine – the title is permanent, once earned.

What’s so special about this event? The popular MMA show coincides with the 237th birthday of the U. S. Marine Corps plus the following day is Veteran’s Day.

The Marine Corps’ birthday is celebrated every year on 10 November in a cake-cutting ceremony where the first slice of cake is given to the oldest Marine present, who in turn hands it off to the youngest Marine present. The celebration includes a reading of Marine Corps Order 47. Epic Fighting will be honoring all present and past Marines by having a half time Marine Corps performance.

Carlos Kremer, a retired Marine Corps Captain and TV personality, will be one of the special guests at this event and being that he’s an ardent MMA fan, Epic plans to have him do the color commentating on each fight. All of the Marines present will receive a special gift at this event to include all the Epic Fighters who are now serving or have served in the Marine Corps. I’m sure everyone would be surprised to learn how many MMA fighters are presently in the Marine Corps.

Some of the expected highlights from Epic Fighting 15:

The heat is on for crowd favorite Sean Najjar (4-2) from the Und1sputed Fitness and Training Center in El Cajon as he will be defending his 135 pound Epic Fighting belt against active duty Marine Nick Kaluza (3-2) from Camp Pendleton. Kaluza, who trains at The Compound in Oceanside, CA is coached by UFC fighter Sean Loeffler.

Also on November 10th, shock waves will ripple through the 185 pound weight division as Kyle Klienschmidt and Chris Lloyd will once again meet in their rematch for the 185 belt. Last time they met, their match ended in a draw. Both fighters have done  a lot of reflecting on that fight and have ensured their fans that this time, they’ll be no need for any judges. Kleinschmidt, who is from The Arena MMA Gym now holds that 185lb belt after beating Odon Alvarez of Team Quest at Epic 14. Lloyd is a Navy veteran from Victory MMA in Point Loma. He feels that belt belongs to him and aims to prove it on November 10.

Back on July 13, 2012, at Epic Fighting 13, Kyle Klienschmidt (L) and Chris Lloyd (R) battled it out for the Epic Fighting 185 pound Championship Belt. When the announcement of a draw was made, you could see the frustration in their faces as both men looked up at the ceiling. The three judges were in a quandary and the fight was declared a draw. It took a lot of hard work for Sean Najjar of Undisputed to win his Championship belt and you can be certain it’s going to take one heck of a fighter to dethrone him. Here we see Najjar receiving the Championship belt back on July 13, 2012 from Epic Fighting’s CEO Jason Stewart. Photo: Jim Wyatt
